Los Angeles moved to 47-38 after falling to Pittsburgh. The Dodgers again let bettors down with a late-inning loss, and they’ll look to respond swiftly here. The Los Angeles offense is scoring 5.04 runs per Game, while batting .231, with a .326 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.24 ERA, with a 1.28 WHIP. Freddie Freeman has collected a hit in eight of the last ten Games, and he leads LAD in BA (.313) and hits (106), with 14 HR and 54 RBI. The rookie righty managed to get back into the win column last week in Kansas City, despite allowing three runs in 5.2 innings to the Royals. Miller’s hot start in the majors has cooled off a bit after a pair of rough starts prior to facing KC, and he’ll look to bounce back with a solid outing here at home.

Last night had to hurt for Los Angeles, and I think they get revenge rather quickly here in Game three. The Dodgers’ bats should be able to find production off of Pirates’ rookie Osvaldo Bido, and there should be a sense of urgency to get back into the win column after blowing Game two in the ninth. LAD will be sending a first-year pitcher to the hill as well in Bobby Miller, so the Over may also be in play, but let’s back on the host to strike back here Wednesday night.
